The Psychological Effects of Color

The Internet source explains the effect of chromotherapy on individuals and specifically cancer patients. Color is a source that can induce different feelings and thoughts. It describes what various colors represent and how they will induce specific feelings. The article also discusses the difference between warm and cool colors and how they represent opposite feelings depending on the use. It is important to be selective when using chromotherapy to ensure the colors are creating the correct feeling dependant on the environment in use. The article touched on the idea that color can be used for aesthetic purposes and healing purposes. Finally, it described how colors can influence performance in specific situations. The article provides examples of these performance actions and what is being influences through the tasks.


The Cancer Treatment and Rehabilitation Facility will introduce Chromotherapy within the facility as an esthetic feature to a healing therapeutic use. Colors have several meaning and induce specific feeling within individuals. The facility will use Chromotherapy to enlighten different environments to create sensation for the patients depending on the activity. Within the Chemotherapy infusion rooms there will be multi colors starting with yellow to stimulate the nerves and purify the body, blue to sooth illness and treat pain, and green to evoke a peaceful and refreshing feel. In area that focus on therapy there will be room of cool colors in moderation to induce a calming and secure feeling. Other rooms will have warm colors in moderation to induce feelings of warmth and comfort. With the understanding that both warm and cool colors have negative and positive feeling the colors will be represented in moderation.
